Mr Patrick LAI, General Manager of GNS China (Beijing) was invited as a guest speaker to present at the ''2008 Conference on Mergers and Acquisitions in China'' in Hong Kong.

The Conference was a full day event held on the 11th of July 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel in Hong Kong, with over 150 participants in attendance.  The topics covered a wide range of issues on mergers and acquisitions in China including the regulatory framework, structuring options, tax planning, financial due diligence, case studies etc.  The Conference attracted CEOs, CFOs, and representatives from multinational companies as well as professional bodies from Hong Kong and mainland China.

Mr LAI presented his topic on ''Process & Strategy of Acquiring a Domestic or Listed Companies in China''.  Other prominent speakers includes Mr MA Yu, Chief of the Foreign Investment Division from Ministry of Commerce (PRC), and Mr MEI Xinyu, Chief of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation Division, plus a number of legal and accounting firms from Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The Conference is one of the key annual events for Mergers and Acquisitions in the greater China region; organised by event management company PEO with support of the Ministry of Commerce, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and the Pearl River Delta Council.
